We were delighted to be chosen as a case study for the Scottish Landscape Alliance's new Landscape Charter. Here is a bit of back ground and below that a link to our case study.
In 2009, Scotland’s landscape community came together to create the first Landscape Charter, confirming strong support for the European Landscape Convention. 20 years on from its first publication and in recognition of the significant changes needed to address the climate and nature emergencies we face, a review of the charter was led by a diverse range of organisations and individuals, coordinated by Scotland’s Landscape Alliance.
This updated charter reflects the increasing dependence and high value that continues to be placed on landscape in Scotland. It demonstrates a commitment to sensitively managing the landscape change needed in line with the principles of the European Landscape Convention to continue to shape our future landscape ambitions through collaborative action.
Scotland’s Landscape Charter has been endorsed by the Scottish Government, NatureScot, Historic Environment Scotland and the Scottish Land Commission.
